About rented equipment and meals
For better comfort and organization, we do not place equipment inside personal suitcases. Each participant is provided with a trekking backpack that includes the rented equipment, where they can carry their personal belongings during the hike. At the end of the hike, all equipment must be returned complete and in good condition; any damage will be the responsibility of the participant.
The service includes a specific list of equipment. If you choose not to use any of the included items, the price remains the same, as the package already includes a discounted rate when booking the guide service.
Meals are generally the responsibility of each participant. We are happy to provide guidance for meal planning, and if you prefer meals to be included, this can be arranged for an additional cost.

Guide Fees & Reservation Policies

Daily capacity: Maximum of 68 people allowed on the trail (including guides), as per park regulations.

Guide capacity: Up to 10 people per guide. Groups larger than 10 must hire an additional guide.

Guide Fee
Guide fee: $250 per group for 1 to 6 participants who book and hike together as a single group. This rate applies only when all participants are part of the same group from the start of the reservation and does not apply to individuals or separate groups later combined or unified.
Each additional participant, up to a maximum of 10 participants in total, is $25 per person.

Guide reservation deposit: 20% required. Additional services (transportation, equipment, meals) require a 100% deposit.

Promotions:
When a promotion applies specifically to the guiding service, the reservation is confirmed with a 50% deposit of the agreed price.

Policy: Deposits are non-refundable; date changes are negotiable.

Collective Groups / Shared Slots
Trips that, by mutual agreement between the parties or for operational reasons, are carried out under a collective or shared modality —whether because other travelers join a previously scheduled date or because a trip originally booked as private becomes shared— do not automatically imply a change in the agreed price.

Access to Barú Volcano and logistical considerations
Access to Barú Volcano is distributed between two different districts: Boquete and Tierras Altas, and each district offers a unique and exclusive type of access.
The Boquete district has the only vehicular road that allows access by 4×4 vehicles to very close to the summit of the volcano. From the point where vehicles stop, the highest point of the summit is reached on foot, approximately 10 minutes walking.
The Tierras Altas district has the only official hiking trail leading to the summit of Barú Volcano, known as the Los Llanos de Paso Ancho trail, where the entire ascent is done on foot.
Travel by vehicle between the Boquete district and the Tierras Altas district, or vice versa, takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic, road conditions, and driving speed. These connections may be used as part of the tour logistics or as a linking route between access points.
It is important to consider this distance when planning your experience:
— If you are staying in Boquete and wish to hike via the trail, you must allow time for vehicle transfer to Tierras Altas.
— If you are staying in Volcán / Tierras Altas and wish to access the volcano by vehicle via Boquete, the same transfer time must also be considered.

Joining an Existing Group – Important Note
When available, clients may have the option to join an already established group. Please note that joining an existing group does not automatically imply a reduced rate. Any price adjustment depends on the specific logistics of the tour, group size, guiding structure, and operational requirements for that date. In some cases, a partial adjustment may be possible; in others, the rate remains unchanged, as the overall responsibility, coordination, and professional service provided are the same. Each case is evaluated individually.
